Welcome to London Class!

In the Nursery we plan in the moment.  By this we mean that when the children enter the classroom each day they will find resources available to support each area of learning.  We have many exciting activities available such as: construction equipment, a role play area, number and mark making resources.  In addition to this we listen to our children, to their experiences and their interests and we devise activities around these to support their learning. One example of this, one of our children told us about a recent trip to a cafe, which led to our role play area becoming a cafe with real food to prepare, cook and serve.  On another occasion a trip to the zoo led to a large scale animal painting session on the play ground.   We love listening to our children.

Nursery activities to try at home

As we get closer to your child starting school, I am sending home some learning suggestions which will help support your child being ready for their new adventure.   Each week until the end of term I will put 8 practical lessons which cover the prime areas of learning and mathematics.  Please click on the links below!

Please do place any photos of your child’s learning onto Tapestry, as not only do I and Mrs BrKovic enjoy seeing what you have been achieving, but your child’s new teacher can also get to see and comment on these images.   Many thanks, Mrs Spurling.
